TRAILING ARM SHIM (3MM - GOLD)

part was designated “Safety Critical” by the factory. As a result, this part required special materials, and records of inspection were required to demonstrate supplier compliance with design requirements. This DeLorean part meets or exceeds those requirements per factory documentation.
Our reproduction trailing arm bolt shims were manufactured using the factory drawing to the same size and specification for not only dimensions, but also the "safety critical" specified hardening and tempering processes. Stainless versions, especially ones thinner than the minimum factory specification of 2mm, may be more susceptible to deformation. Once deformation occurs, it is possible to see the shim become dislodged.
When the 3mm shims are used with the 2mm shims, they offer a wider range of adjustability, without resorting to thinner than specified shims. Both the 2mm and 3mm shims are marked with the thickness and plated in different colors for quick and easy identification both loose and installed in the car.
