INCONEL TRAILING ARM BOLTS WITH NUTS, SHIMS, SS REINFORCEMENT PLATES AND HARDWARE
These
parts were designated “Safety Critical” by the factory. As a result, these parts required special materials, and records of inspection were required to demonstrate supplier compliance with design requirements. These DeLorean parts meet or exceed those requirements per factory documentation.
COMPLETE SET OF TRAILING ARM BOLTS, SHIMS, NUTS PLUS OUR NEW TRAILING ARM REINFORCEMENT PLATES WITH HARDWARE.
These Inconel trailing arm bolts come with a quantity of 4 each of our exclusive hardened and tempered 2mm and 3mm shims, offering the option of shimming in 1mm increments from 2-8mm.
Do these trailing arm reinforcement plates look different than the ones on your car? They should, and there's a good reason for that! This design is based on the latest factory design only seen on a very few cars. Factory documentation from October 1981 instituted this change - the angled cut on the opposite corners - to remove a possible interference issue with one of the coolant lines on the right-hand side of the car. Rather than create another part number for just that side, they later decided to put the angle on both opposite corners to eliminate the possibility of them being installed incorrectly. These stainless brackets are supplied with factory-specified, carbon steel, 10.9 bolts, nyloc nuts and stainless steel washers.
Below are the test results on our Inconel 718 trailing arm bolts as performed by an independent, third-party metallurgical testing laboratory. We tested two samples (below) from our new trailing arm bolts along with the factory-specified 10.9 carbon steel bolt.
