STEERING RACK MOUNT BRACKET (SQUARE)
LATEST FACTORY SPEC - THE RECALL THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, BUT SHOULD HAVE...
When we went to have these reproduced, we went to the factory drawings and engineering records and were shocked.
On November 18, 1981, an urgent factory engineering change was issued for a new RH Steering Rack Mount Bracket - a safety critical part - to improve the attachment of the rack to the chassis. As a "safety critical" part, a further "Temporary Substition Authority" or "TSA" was issued requiring parts to the new specification be put on the production line immediately. The "other guys" selling reproductions of this part didn't know it had been changed - or even if they did, they likely did not understand the significance of this change, and chose to make the "cheaper" version of this part.
Sold complete with new hardware for a perfect fit and great look!
