Improved Part is identical or similar to the original part, but improved in design, material or functionality.
Lots of times when the trip odometer reset shaft gets broken, the rest of the parts - the knob, spacer and this nut - are still attached to the piece that has been broken off. Sometimes these parts get put in the glovebox, coin tray or ashtray for safekeeping. Regardless, you'll need these three parts when you decide to replace the shaft itself.
Note that this nut ONLY works with our 105863 trip reset shaft - which comes with this nut included!
