Reproduction Part is one that has been re-created using the factory engineering drawings, but with modern materials and techniques. These parts are only modified to improve functionality or simplify tooling and/or manufacturing.
Did you know the original brake master cylinder was internally proportioned uniquely for the 62/38 weight distribution of the DeLorean? That's why we got away from the common "cross-reference" 50/50 proportioned part and decided to do it the right way - we went to our library of original factory drawings and had new parts made. That's right, the only source for a 100% factory-spec correct brake master is from DeLorean Motor Company!
Not sure if yours is original or a replacement? An original typically has a red/orange plastic band around it and that "red" may as well stand for "danger" - that thing is likely 40 years old! If it doesn't have the part number and DMC logo cast into the side of it - our correct ones do - carefully check it's operation and if questionable, replace it with the right part.
