Lots of places use our DeLorean part numbers as identifiers for their "cross-reference" or "copycat" parts, creating confusion in the marketplace. This 
New Original Stock, or NOS, part traces its origins back to 1982, when the DeLorean factory closed. In some cases, the part has traveled from the original supplier in the US to Dunmurry before making it's way to Ohio and finally Texas!
According to Wikipedia, "An ignition coil (also called a spark coil) is an induction coil in an automobile's ignition system which transforms the battery's low voltage to the thousands of volts needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel." That was one time Wikipedia was right, at least. The original equipment Bosch units have been fantastically reliable performers over the years and were designed to work with our the DeLorean spark plugs and plug wires. Many cars we see in our shop that don't run properly have one or more of these items replaced with a non-standard aftermarket part.
